Training + Supplementation Education (Part 1) featuring Triathlete James Loaring
Hello!
This is James Loaring, a professional triathlete from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. I have been swimming, biking, and running for as long as I can remember. Just like many athletes, my ultimate goal is to represent my country at the Olympic Games. I hope this goal will become a reality at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Many ingredients come into play in order to become a world class athlete. Training hard is just one aspect of becoming a champion. To get a jump on the upcoming triathlon season, I will be flying to Tucson, Arizona on February 24th for an extended two month training camp. My weekly training schedule will consist of six swims, five bikes, and six runs. Wow, that sounds exhausting just typing that, but I am very excited to begin training hard after taking it relatively easy the past couple of months. It's difficult to fuel the body properly when training at such a high capacity. I have turned to Xxtra Fitness products to help aid my nutrition before, during, and after every workout in order to train hard and recover faster. I look forward to sharing with you some triathlon tips and educating you on the importance of proper nutrition and supplementation.

Proper Nutrition When Flying

Proper nutrition is vital for an athlete who is on the road traveling. It is difficult to find healthy meals en route to a destination. It will take the whole day to fly from my hometown in Windsor, Ontario to Tucson, Arizona. Flying on an airplane places extra nutritional demands on the body. With so many free radicals floating around in an airplane, it is vital to become proactive before the flight and take a supplement that will help fight off these free radicals and will help boost your immune system. I take Immunizen. A few capsules of Immunizen before you fly will aid your immune system by helping the body promote certain immune cell types. These cell types play an active role in promoting healthy immune function.

I also make sure to keep well hydrated when flying. Being in a pressurized airplane for a long period can leave you very dehydrated by the time you end up at your destination. Drinking plenty of water with LowOz will provide my body with essential electrolytes.

Showing up in Tucson properly nourished and hydrated will greatly aid in getting me settled down quickly so I can begin training instead of taking days to recover from the long flight and travel. Thanks for listening and until next time, fuel the fire properly!

Cheers,
James
